1. Overview

This site is a public-interest transparency tool. We collect minimal data about visitors and do not create user accounts, track individuals across sites, or sell any data. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used.

2. Data We Collect

Anonymous Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns: which pages are visited, general geographic regions, referring sources, and device types. This data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard web server information including IP addresses, browser types, and page requests. These logs are retained for operational and security purposes only, are not shared with third parties, and are deleted per Vercel's standard retention policy.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

  • No user accounts or login credentials
  • No payment information
  • No persistent tracking cookies beyond analytics (Phase 1: none)
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No cross-site behavioral tracking
  • No biometric data
  • No device fingerprinting

4. Cookies

This site does not use persistent cookies for tracking. Standard session functionality may use temporary session cookies that expire when you close your browser. If tracking cookies are added in future, this policy will be updated and a cookie consent banner will be displayed.

5. Third-Party Services

This site is hosted on Vercel (vercel.com) and uses Neon Postgres for database services. These providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and are GDPR-compliant. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

External links to DOJ, PACER, DocumentCloud, and House Oversight Committee are provided as reference links. When you follow these links, you are subject to the privacy policies of those sites.

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data

  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal data

Note: The public-interest data on this site (names in government documents) is sourced from public records and is not personal data that we collected from individuals. Erasure requests for government-sourced public record data cannot be granted, as this data is in the public domain.

7. CCPA Rights (California Residents)

California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected about them
  • Know whether personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

We do not sell personal information. To exercise any CCPA right, email support@dfkhelper.com.

8. Data Retention

This site does not collect contact form submissions or user-submitted data. Analytics data is retained per the analytics provider's standard retention policy (typically 90 days for raw data).

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date. Continued use of the site after policy changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
